YJ has just released their flagship magnetic 6x6. This cube speaks for itself, it was used to break the Thailand and Malaysia National Average before its release. Right out of the box it is extremely smooth and performs exceptionally. Lockups are minimal and the magnet strength is medium.

YJ was gracious enough to give us one of the first batches, but supplies are limited and will sell quick.

Epic

The cube is very good, the speed is perfect for my turning style and has dropped my time by 20 seconds. Overall it is a good cube in general except for the fact that it pops a tiny bit with the centres but that should not be a problem if you tighten it up.

Matches the Hype

6x6 is slowly becoming one of my favourite events, so I jumped when I heard a new 6x6 was outperforming it's price ranged.

Generally, I'm extremely partial to MoYu cubes and I really do enjoy my AoShi GTSM. It does seem to have a stability issue however. While I was able to get it to a decent speed it's not quite as fast as I would like and I still need very accurate turning to avoid all kinds of centre piece pops.

Enter the MGC. After a few solves to begin breaking it in, I got out the Traxxas 10k and the screw driver. It was way loose (as everyone says) so lubing the internals was easy. This is also the only section I lubed except for a very, very tiny amount between the second/third layer pieces. After tightening it somewhere around a full turn (maybe more) I was able to maintain the Valk-like speed on the outer two layers and increase the stability somewhat on the inner layers.

While I do have it slightly to the loose side still, I'm happy to say that pops are fairly rare. The only time I've gotten any (after 50-ish solves) is when I do 3Lw U' or 3Rw' U. There's a slight catch if you don't finish the 3w move all the way and it can pull out an innermost centre piece on the second-from-top layer. However, this may be due to how much Traxxas I put inside.

The only other drawback I found was the bumpiness felt when turning three outer layers at once. This however can likely be reduced with lube.

Highly recommend for anyone getting into 6x6 or needing an upgrade. Just be…
