For me it was quite tight out of the box and I don't think there was any lube in the cube, so it felt a little dry. The cube does turn quite well though but I feel that it isn't the smoothest, the corner cuts are decent. The QiYi Thunderclap V3 has an unusual feeling to it that I can't describe but it feels like a much better Rubik's brand cube, this is probably because it clicks a lot. It is very stable though and does not lose its shape at all, therefore it does not pop, but it can corner twist, although it is reasonably difficult to corner twist.
The price of this cube is very cheap and I would recommend this cube, but I would not prioritise this over other budget cubes
